| Beautiful 1972 Corvette Convertible Big Block 454 for sale with 107,000 original miles. Matching numbers engine. Nice red exterior over black deluxe leather interior, this special car was built in October of 1971. Starts; runs and drives beautifully with plenty of power from the 270hp 454 big block, and has nice, tight shifting via the numbers matching standard 4-speed manual transmission. Everything in good to excellent working order including the fiber-optic lighting indicators, heater, radio, gauges, headlamp doors, wiper door,etc. The A/C does not work, but is all there. Equipped from factory with the most desirable options, see below. I also have a stack of receipts and registration material from the eighties to present. I have the original TANK STICKER and the Order sheet. The door original door panels now have unobtrusive armrest covers. Though not original, the radio is a Custom Autosounds USA-5 and works well. The good news is that you can easily hook up an ipod or XM radio to the CD changer jack and add an amp to the RCA outs. The power windows work very well, the headlamps and wiper door pop right up. It has a new wiper motor, but I still haven\'t been able to get them to work. The body is very clean and the bonding strips look good. It was repainted Red, from its original Targa Blue. The white convertible top is brand new. The original auxiliary hard top is in good condition except that it needs paint. New weatherstripping was done recently. The under side is very clean with only surface rust, and not much of that. The bushings, strut rods, A arm bushings and rear spring bushings, etc. were all redone in 2009. The Trailing Arms, inner and outer bearings and half shafts were also re done in 2009, as were the brakes with rebuilt calipers. The 454 is the original numbers matching engine. It was rebuilt in 1991 at 79,000 miles, with all new pistons, rings, bearings, and a slightly hotter cam. It has approximately 27,000 miles since rebuild. It starts with immediately with no smoke or noises and has tons of power! I have the receipts from the shop that rebuilt the engine and they did everything from R&R to Re installation. The Quadrajet is from a 1971 Corvette. Not sure about the distributor. I have the original valve covers. The transmission shifts very smoothly and the 3:08 rear end gives a nice cruise with 2500 rpm\'s at 70 mph. This is a very honest, solid, mostly original big block Corvette. It is a joy to drive.
